Andrea
Pace
Nato
a Roma il 22 maggio 1967, si diploma nel 1990 in sassofono presso il
conservatorio L. Refice di Frosinone con i M° A. Santoloci ed E. Colombo,
nel 1996 si diploma in Jazz presso il medesimo conservatorio, sotto la
guida del M° G. Iacoucci.
Nel
1990 frequenta il seminario presso la scuola di musica popolare di
testaccio con Sal Nistico, nel 1992 presso l' "Università della
musica"
di Terni con J. Bergonzi, nel 1994 frequenta i corsi di Umbria Jazz
in Perugia. Vincitore
di concorso per titoli ed esami (bando del 1990) per l'insegnamento del
sax nei Conservatori di musica. Dal 1993 al 1998 ha insegnato al
Conservatorio di Salerno, dal 1998 ad oggi è docente presso il
Conservatorio San Pietro a
Majella di Napoli.
Ha
collaborato con la Big band del M° G. Iacoucci con la quale ha effettuato
concerti e registrazioni con musicisti di fama internazionale quali Steve
Grossman, Joe Mosca, Gianni Basso E. Pieranunzi, P. Fresu, G. Trovesi. Ha
registrato colonne sonore per l'Unione Musicisti di Roma e l'AMIT con
maestri quali E. Morricone, N. Piovani, G. Ferrio, L. Bacalov.
Ha
suonato con le Orchestre (per ordine cronologico): "Roma Multiphonia"
diretta dal M° Santoloci; "Jazz istruzione per l'uso" con
l'orchestra del M° M. Nunzi; "S.Pietro a Majella Ensamble" in
qualità di solista diretta dal M° B. Tommaso; Galaxy Big Band diretta
dal M° B. Biriaco; con la PMJO diretta dal M° M. Giammarco al festival
Jazz di Ciampino;
Con
il Gasp
Quintem
jazz group da lui fondato, compie il tour in Africa Zimbabwe
(concerti per HIFA e ZIFT), Kenya, Etiopia
nel maggio 2000.
Dal 1995 suona e collabora con il M° Oddi nella conduzione
artistico - organizzativa dello Ialsax Quartet con il quale ha effettuato
tourneé in tutto il mondo.
Nel
2007 dedica un progetto musicale dedicato al sassofonista J. Coltrane
esibendosi al 2° festival del sassofono alla casa del Jazz in Roma, al
festival jazz di Alatri (fr).
Andrea Pace
Andrea Pace was born in Rome on May 22, 1967. In 1990 he graduated
in saxophone at the Frosinone L. Refice Conservatory with Maestro A.
Santoloci and Maestro E. Colombo. In 1996 he graduated in Jazz at
the same Conservatory under the guidance of Maestro G. Iacoucci. In
1990 Andrea Pace attended seminars at the “Testaccio School of Folk
Music” with Sal Nistico and in 1992 at the “University of Music” of
Terni with J. Bergonzi. In 1994 he attended courses of “Umbria
Jazz” in Perugia. He is a winner of the competitive entrance
examination for saxophone teaching position at State Music Conservatories.
From 1993 to 1998 he taught at the Salerno Conservatory, from 1998 to
present he is a teacher at the San Pietro a Majella Conservatory in Naples.
Collaborations
Andrea Pace has collaborated with Maestro G. Iaconucci “Big Band”
performing concerts and recordings with world renown musicians like Steve
Grossman, Joe Mosca, Gianni Basso, E. Fresu, G. Trovesi. He recorded
movie sound tracks for the “Musicians Union of Rome” and the
“AMIT” with Maestri like E. Morricone, N. Piovani, G. Ferrio, L.
Bacalov. He performed with the Orchestra of (in chronological order)
“Roma Multiphonia”, directed by Maestro Santolci, “Jazz Istruzioni
per l”Uso” with the Maestro M. Nunzi Orchestra, as a soloist for the
“San Pietro a Majella Ensamble” directed by Maestro B. Tommaso,
“Galaxy Big Band” directed by Maestro B. Biriaco, with the “PMJO”
directed by Maestro M. Giammarco at “Ciampino Jazz Festival”. In
2000 he was on tour in Africa Zimbabwe (concerts for “HIFA” and “ZIFT”)
and in Kenya, Ethiopia with his “Gasp Quintem Jazz Group” founded by
him. In 1995 Andrea Pace performs and collaborates as an art manager
with Maestro Oddi for the “Laslax Quartet” with which he tours the
world. In 2007 he dedicates a musical projects to the saxophonist J.
Coltrane with performances at the “2nd” Saxophone Festival” at the
“House of Jazz” in Rome and at the “Alatri Jazz Festival” (Frosinone).
